Our Heritage
Where ancient
wisdom heals.
The Royal Thai Gardens was founded on a single belief: that true wellness is not a luxury — it is a return to balance.
Founded by husband-and-wife team Jeff and Irene Esterhuizen, The Royal Thai Gardens is the culmination of their shared passion for authentic Thai massage and holistic wellbeing. Their love story began amidst the beauty and rich traditions of Thailand, where Irene discovered the ancient healing art of Thai massage. Together, they dreamed of bringing that same authentic experience to South Africa.
Following the success of The Royal Thai Gardens in Gqeberha, they are proud to welcome guests to their new East London branch, offering the same exceptional standard of authentic Thai massage and spa treatments in a tranquil, beautifully designed setting.
Every treatment is delivered with genuine Thai hospitality and a commitment to helping each guest relax, restore and reconnect. Whether you’re seeking relief from everyday stress, muscle tension, or simply a moment of peaceful escape, our experienced therapists are dedicated to providing a personalised wellness experience.
At The Royal Thai Gardens East London, you’ll discover more than just a spa. You’ll find a place where traditional Thai healing meets heartfelt South African hospitality—a sanctuary created to restore balance to body, mind and spirit.
